Every medical leave of absence must be evaluated to determine whether or not it meets the criteria for Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and California Family Rights Act (CFRA) coverage. FMLA/CFRA entitle the employee to up to twelve weeks of leave (paid or unpaid) within a calendar year. FMLA/CFRA run concurrently with each other except in the case of pregnancy. The County’s FMLA Policy can be accessed at: http://intranet/Intranet/IntranetHome/Policies%20and%20Standards/FMLA_Policy.htm
